So... Yeah

How 'bout that? Michael Jackson died yesterday.

And go figure, I figured out he has three kids. Named Michael Jackson Jr., Paris Jackson, and Prince Jackson (AKA, Blanket).

How 'bout that?

Little Updater Mah Thinger Mah Jigger

Sun Jun 21, 2009, 1:44 PM
Okay, Updates on art coming this week. That was the promise and I'm sticking to it.

Just thought I'd let everyone know: you know those things I uploaded most lately? You know, the skinny things with ball heads, black hair and big, creepy circle eyes? Some of 'em were playing instruments? Yeah. Those things.
I'm not gonna draw them anymore (I have some to upload that're like that but then thats it).
It's not that I don't like them anymore. Personally, I love how my pictures with them turned out and they were really fun and easy to draw. Just after a bit of thinking lately, they're a TOTAL fucking rip off and even if they're my most popular pieces (though that's not saying much), I don't wanna do them anymore.

Like not even kidding, look at :devdholls:'s work. It's pretty much the same thing, but creepier, more finished, higher quality, and the original.

So the last few of my rip offs will be in this week, but after that I'll be going back to uploading only my originals.

Look forward to it please. ^_^

WTF's up Mother Fuckers?

Tue Jun 16, 2009, 7:51 PM
Journal journal. Blah blah blah. I haven't done much anything have I?

Well that'll change once school's out.

No. It's not one of those "Sorry no art. School sucks >_<!" kinda things.
This is one of those "I've been a lazy ass with no excuse for not uploading anything but that'll all change" kinda things.

This is my final week of school and I've got a shit load of art actually from this semester (thank you art class). So be prepared for a major summer art dump!

lol. Just kidding.

I'll probably upload all during next week since I got out of my only final (thank you exemptions).

Until then though................................
DEAL WITH THE LITTLE UPDATES MINIONS! THEY ARE COMING!

Some CDs

Sat May 2, 2009, 8:11 PM
I've boughten a couple of CDs of different groups lately. I decided to give a little review of my 3 latest ones. The self titled album by Avenged Sevenfold, Wrath by Lamb of God, and Save Me From Myself by Brian "Head" Welch (you know, the guy from Korn?).

There'll be a little criteria on which I do these little review thingy majiggers.
Originality (Have I heard these riffs and such before?)
Listenability (If I was able to listen to a song and why or why not.)
Technicalities (No. This does not mean the songs sound like total guitar rape for the entire time. This is like how all the instruments and vocals sound and if they all fit together well to make a good song.)

Now, SHOWTIME!!!!!!!!! (and a half) Note:beware. this is FUCKING LONG!

Avenged Sevenfold-Avenged Sevenfold
Hmm... Avenged Sevenfold... Well, you won't be dissappointed if you already like the band (shocked at times though), and if you haven't heard them before, you'll take up a liking to it (I have real life examples of this).
The band said they wanted the entire album to be slowed down to a slower tempo, wanting a groove oriented album. Only song I really noticed on was Scream. The others all sound more or less like their other songs. This is Avenged Sevenfold though, and they're all crazy (The Rev for sure). They threw a whole manner of things into their songs you've probably never heard from the band before, or most other rock bands. Brompton Cocktail (one of my faves) is a totally stacked song. Distorted, screeching guitars. Violins for the verses instead of guitars. Different types of percussion. The song Lost is another fine example. It sounds pretty typical of A7X for it's entirety BUT they threw a twist into the song. They used vocal distortion for the chorus of the song. Think like those old pop/boy bands that used tools to make their voices sound all cool and funny. Never seen that kinda stuff in ANY rock before. Dear God, is a country song. No joke at all, from the banjos to the steel guitars it's a country song. A Little Piece of Heaven (another one of my faves), is 100% a messed up, hilarious, distrubing, and stacked song. String arrangments, a choir, brass and woodwind arrangments, fast piano, bottle smashing, it's got damn near everything you can think of.
Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengence are amazing guitarists. The Rev is an amazing drummer. Johnny Christ is a hell of a bassist. and M. Shadows is some kinda singer, I'll tell ya. But I'll just talk guitar so as not to bore you all. The guitars are all different sounding, technical, sound good together. A few dueling solos happening, Afterlife's ass rape solo where you go "How'd he do that?!" Some nice sounding acoustic parts AND some good ol' trashing riffs like Almost Easy and Critical Acclaim.
The songs are all really easy for me to listen to too. All the songs flow really well and set up their own unique feel. Some might not like Brompton Cocktail though for some of the screeching guitars (I love that kinda stuff though).
Overall, A7X did a good job making this album. It flows well, sounds good, will blow your mind with it's solos, and closes off in a nice, drifting manner leaving you feeling good.

Wrath-Lamb of God
The newest album by LoG is sure to live up to your expectations.
Some people might not totally buy into this though. While I personally love all the different things I heard on the album, I've still been told it sounds "just like all their other stuff". I just don't see it. ANYway, the album opens with acoustic guitar (cause you know that's in like, EVERY LoG song *eye roll*) which then turns to slow heavy riffs. Then the album kicks into gear, and kicks you straight in the taint. In Your Words has possibly one of the coolest riffs I've ever heard with stopped notes. A few of the songs also used some blast beats on the drums, something I haven't heard a lot of in Lamb of God songs. Most won't see much impressive with the drum beats but if you listen to the bass drum, it's playing different, original beats that you have to be quite creative to come up with (some might disagree but hey, it's my review, deal with it). Acoustic guitars (downtuned too I think) return for the final track, Reclamation which is actually pretty awesome sounding (imagine Satan's acoustic guitar and what it would sound like). Randy did some cool stuff with his vocals too. For In Your Words and Set To Fail, he does this new kind of scream that sounds distorted and different from their older tracks.
All the guys are super talented I think. The bass is really quite impressive (even if you have to seperate the tracks in a song to hear it properly), the guitar work is great, with some great technical moves (In Your Words) and solos that work well with the songs. AND they didn't have the idiot brain to try and melt our faces off with them on every song. I love Randy's vocal work. The guy's just amazing. Hands down. And Chris is a VERY good drummer. He's no Neal Peart, but he definately knows what he's doing, and what feel he's going for in a song.
Quite a few people actually WON'T like listening to it, but that'll be because they don't like this kind of metal. For me, I love it. I haven't skipped over a song because I'm tired of it yet.

Save Me From Myself-Brian "Head" Welch
Ex-Korn guitarist Brian Welch bursts out on his own with his solo debut, and I have to say, I'm quite impressed.
A few of the songs have that Korn feel, sorry to say but what can you expect, this was the guitarist of Korn for YEARS. So a fair bit of the guitar and drums actually have a Korn style to them. Still, the riffs are different than Korn's and aren't actually that much a focus if you can believe that. The bass is nothing like Korn's, but I only know that cause I can barely hear it, if even that. Brian also added some things to his songs that Korn didn't (so far as I know) like sythy pianos, and a choir of little children's being creepy and singing (Re-Bel). One of the things I liked was Brian's voice. He did all the vocal work (other than the children. Duh.) for the album and I've gotta say I like his voice. His singing voice sounds kind of sad almost in the songs, he uses some screaming in songs like Flush, Die Religion Die and Re-Bel. And for Flush I LOVED the latter half of the chorus where he shifts from screams and a deep voice to this scratchy, creepy voice.
The songs all worked really well together. Though he didn't look it or seem it, Head knows how to write some good music and lyrics. The lyrics all portray a bit of a positive message or a bad story turning good or can turn good. A fair amount even have a religious message to them. BUT it's not preachy and they all maintain a dark tone to them, which is what I liked about them. Two of the things that annoy me the most are preaching one sidedly, and ANNOYINGLY happy singing. Brian's approach to it made it really for me to listen to what he had to say, all the way through.
Overall, a good album that I liked. Little Korn sounding, but not too much that I would ever confuse it for Korn though. I'd recommend it to you all. Really impressed me with this one.
